Regulatory Pushback: The historic Gilded Age eventually provoked a democratic backlash, leading to antitrust legislation under Theodore Roosevelt. A similar reckoning is needed today as unchecked private monopolies extract wealth, influence geopolitics, and guide AI development without public consent or accountability.
